Graça Casal

Professor of Cellular and Molecular Biology, in University Institute of Health Sciences (IUCS), CESPU, since 1993 and researcher of parasitology of aquatic organisms, in Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research, University of Porto (CIIMAR/UP) until 2017. Concluded in 2009 the Doctoral Thesis, in Biomedical Sciences, Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, University of Porto (ICBAS/UP) and graduate degree in Aquatic Sciences in 1992 by ICBAS/UP. Her research interests are: Clarify the life cycles of myxosporeans infecting commercially important reared and wild fishes; Ultrastructural and molecular characterization of microsporidiosis in aquatic resources of commercial interest. Her biography includes over 89 original peer review research articles. Presently is researcher integrated in IINFACTS (Instituto de Investigação e Formação Avançada em Ciências e Tecnologias da Saúde).
