Susana Coimbra

Carla Susana Meireles Coimbra (Susana Coimbra) has a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences - Specialty of Clinical Analysis (2010), a MSc in Quality Control (2004), and a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (1994), all completed at Universidade do Porto - Faculdade de Farmácia. She has also a Specialty in Clinical Analysis (2002) conferred by Portuguese Pharmacists Order (OF; Council of the College of Specialty Clinical Analysis - OF). She is Assistant Professor/Principal Adjunct Professor at Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Politécnico e Universitário (CESPU) in the areas of Clinical Biochemistry and Hematology; coordinates the CTeSP in Control and Bioanalysis (ESSVA-IPSN, CESPU); and she had co-coordinated the MSc in Clinical Analysis (Instituto Universitário de Ciências da Saúde (IUCS); CESPU). Nowadays, Susana Coimbra is an independent researcher at REQUIMTE - UCIBIO, integrating the research group "Disease Pathways & Biomarkers", specifically the Lab "Drug Targets and Biomarkers"; she is also a collaborator at TOXRUN from IUCS-CESPU. She has published 52 journal articles, 13 book chapters and 1 eBook, and 38 conference papers (Scopus h-index: 18). The results of the works in which she participated gave rise to about 25 oral and 50 poster communications presented at international and national scientific congresses.   Presently, she co-coordinates 1 PhD thesis; has supervised 3 and co-supervised 7 MSc dissertations; and 2 works to complete a degree level. Currently she is a co-PI at a FCT funded project and PI at a project funded by CESPU; she participated as PI in 4 projects, as co-PI in 2 project, and integrated another 4 funded projects as a research member. She has received 4 distinctions for some of her works. Some of her actual research interest key-words are: biomarkers, inflammation, renal disease, cardiovascular risk factors.
