Its assigned mission is i) to facilitate the conduct of clinical, epidemiological, and educational research in close collaboration with CESPU teaching faculties; and ii) to improve the quality of healthcare in Portugal by obtaining epidemiologic information critical to understanding health problems, particularly in our region. Doing so, this research area bridges the gap between research and health care practice for improved human health.
