Carla Isabel Silva Miranda has a PhD in Veterinary Sciences from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar at the University of Porto (ICBAS-UP) in 2016 and obtained a Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in 2010. She worked in the Department of Veterinary Sciences at UTAD, as a PhD Researcher and Invited Assistant. Currently, she works as Invited Assistant Professor of the Department of Science, University Institute of Health Sciences (IUCS-CESPU). She supervises several undergraduate students and master dissertations. Her professional activity takes place in the area of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. It presents scientific publications in indexed scientific journals, publications in GenBanK and in national and international congresses. Her main research areas include infectious diseases, zoonoses, microbiology, virology and antibiotic resistance in a One Health approach.
