M. Margarida P. Borges is currently a 3rd year BSc student in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. From April to July 2023, she joined the 1H-TOXRUN@CESPU research unit as a volunteer researcher working at the group of Prof. Eduarda M. P. Silva towards the synthesis of xanthone-BINOL derivatives for detection of D-amino acids (project ref. XANTAAL_GI2-CESPU_2022). At present, Margarida is developing research work considering this type of chemosensors as part of an internship project for her Biochemistry degree studies under the supervision of Prof. Elizabeth Tiritan. Besides her academic interests, she also participates in activities related with the University of Porto Biochemistry student’s union (President-elected).
